Ron Wolfe

Ron Wolfe has been involved in the broadband telecommunications industry for over four decades, having held numerous positions with both service providers and industry suppliers. Ron’s professional experience covers a wide array of disciplines, including team leadership, technical training, engineering and product management roles related to RF and HFC outside plant, optical transport, digital video processing, including switched digital video and program insertion, DOCSIS and IPTV technologies, RFoG, EPON, Quality of Experience (QOE) management.

Ron’s role at Charter Communications includes development of the company’s outside plant architecture strategy as Senior Director of Engineering & Architecture in the Charter Technology and Engineering Center in the Denver area, a role he has been in since 2014. Ron’s experience included approximately 18 years at Time Warner Cable and several years each at @Home Network, BigBand Networks and Aurora Networks.

Ron has worked as a member of a team of technology leaders responsible for the initial rollouts of Hybrid Fiber Coax, the Full-Service Network, the deployment of High Speed Data and SDV services, DWDM optical transport of video and Fiber-to-the-Home projects.

In addition to his involvement with SCTE, Ron is a member of IEEE and the Optical Society of America, and has authored, co-authored and presented numerous papers for these organizations. Ron has been a member of innovation teams that received Technical Emmy awards for developments related to Hybrid Fiber Coax technology and Switched Digital Video.
