Andrew Gough

Andrew Gough is a manager, curriculum development with Charter Communications.

Andrew began his cable television career January 1980 as an installer with UA-Columbia in Westchester county NY. There he learned all facets of CATV field operations from installer to trunk tech. In 1984 he accepted the position of tech supervisor with a small independent cable company with three franchises in Western Connecticut. After working up to System Technical Manager with that system which later became Charter Communications, he left in 1997 for a job at a small contractor managing the design/digitizing/drafting group and overseeing safety. Two years later he joined a good friend in a four person company building headends and hub-sites for Comcast, WOW, RCN and Starpower. Due to an industry slowdown in 2003 he returned to Charter as a third shift, hourly sweep tech. In 2004 he was promoted to technical & safety trainer and in 2008 became a training supervisor for Charter’s East Division. 2005 through 2017 saw many changes to the learning and development groups within Charter. In 2017 Andrew joined the curriculum design team in Greenwood Village. His main focus is managing the progression programs for Field Operations along with working closely with the LMS, safety and regional delivery teams.

A member of the Society since 1989, Andrew served as an associate board member of the New England chapter from 2006 through 2017. He has presented at Chapter technical sessions and worked on various subcommittees with SCTE national on certifications. Currently serving SCTE as a member of the L & D Committee along with being a SCTE Proctor. His interests include SCTE training and certifications, ensuring member’s needs are met with technical sessions and encouraging participation.
Prior to moving to Colorado Andrew was a volunteer interior firefighter for 26 years. Qualified to drive and operate all apparatus from ambulances to engines, towers ladders and tankers he was also the department safety officer at the time of his departure.

Andrew and his wife enjoy exploring Colorado and the west in their camper van and on their motorcycle.
